FINAL PROJECT
Week 8
To start this project, we had to start by animating our visuals and make then into gifs. I only did a few visuals in the beginning before I started doing the rest.
In class we started working on our ebooks. For the ebook, Mr.Vinod told us we had to think of the ebook as one screen and not two pages and that whilst we had to stick to our layout, we could still alter it slightly.
FEEDBACK
Week 8: After seeing the first set of visuals, Mr.Vinod told me to be mindful of my animations since the visuals were so powering that the animation had to be subtle that it didn't take away all the attention from the text.
Week 9: This week, during class, Mr.Vinod gave me feedback on the ebook as I designed about the leading and the font size and the layout. H explained that we didn't have to stick exactly to our official book layouts but could vary a bit since we weren't designing two pages but one big screen. For the animations, he told us they had to be in one go because the reader would get annoyed if they had to click over and over again.
Week 10: No feedback since it was raya.
Week 11: No feedback since I didn't;t attention class.
Week 12: For the iPhone version, Mr.Vinod explained how the type size had to big and showed us examples using his phone so we had an understanding of how big the type size would have to be for it to appear on the screen and be easy for the reader to read.
Week 13: When Mr.Vinod reviewed my ebook for the desktop, turned out the leading was different and the point size was also different and he told me fix that. He also told me to add a drop shadow to the extra text that is placed upon the visuals and to also add the roll overs.
REFLECTION
Week 8: This week when I started on the animations I was using an app which proved to be very tedious because zooming in and getting very nook and cranny of what I wanted to animate took a few precise brush strokes until I was able to animate what I wanted. I also had to be careful to not over animate the visuals or else they would be too distracting. I knew I wanted to make psychedelic animations which would give the reader a proper view of my mind.
Week 9: This week, during the ebook setup and layout, I felt a bit lost because I couldn't quite get the layout to look like what I wanted and then I realised I had stop looking at it as two pages and as a screen ad it got a bit easier from there to adjust and once the animations were added, everything tied in a bit better.
Week 10: I don't have much feedback this week since it was raya and I was a bit busy swarming guests because there were a lot of guests since it was the time of celebration but finishing my ebook layout was the achievement of the week.
Week 11: After adding the buttons and the animations, my reaction consisted of "ooooh" and "ahh" because it opened a door of learning a new side of indesign which in the long run could come in handy in the professional life even though I still don't know what I want to do in the future but yay for achieving a new skill. I thinkI can say, InDesign Level 5 achieved.
Week 12: For the iPhone version, I had to look at the book on my phone to gain some reference and after showing them to Mr.Vinod he commented about how bad it was and I realised thats why reading books on my phone is kind of annoying because the layout was bad. After making the iPhone version, adjusting the measurements of my animations was a bit tricky because I wanted the animation to give its impact but without having to resize and it and I managed.
Week 13: This week, after seeing the very stupid mistakes I had made, I felt like someone had slapped me in the face because at this point in time, I shouldn't be making stupid mistakes and I went home and fixed all those mistakes and also fixed some things that Mr.Vinod didn't notice because I was the only one who could tell that a whole chunk of text was missing. I realised, I need to be a lot more careful when it comes to working on things like books because the leading matters a lot and that I needed to triple check before everything was final and good to go.
