Week 1
Lecture 1: Vormator shapes
26/03/18
We were introduced to Adobe Illustrator, given a bright introduction to it and to our module. We were then given a demonstration of the pen tool and shown how to trace the vormator shapes.
We were shown how to create and unite shapes using the pathfinder tool. We were explained how to unite and divide shapes together using the tool. Using the pathfinder tool, we were shown how to add shadows and create different shapes using the vormator shapes that were already given.
Week 3
Lecture 3
09/04/18
This week we were shown how to create a clipping mask and merge texture onto our vormator characters. The blending mode came in handy for when the texture had to be blended onto our characters. At the end of the class, Mr.Hafiz gave us our first assignment which was to create our own vormator character and how we had to create a pokemon card for our vormator.
I hadn't been happy with any of the current vormators I had made so far so i decided to make a new one.
This week, we were taken to a 3D Print lab, where we were told to get our characters printed. There were specific types of prints, such as a laser cut, laser print and UV print. I chose to get mine laser cut and UV printed.

Reflection:
Week 1: This was the first class and it was quite nerve wrecking because I had no idea on what to expect. However, Mr.Hafiz is really good at explaining and my worries were washed away because I got the concept.
Week 2: This week proved that everything can be learnt through practice because Mr.Hafiz explains the concept of shading and adding shadows at least three times and we finally got it. I started becoming more comfortable with illustrator this week.
Week 3: This week was probably the best week because I was able to final make a vormator that I was happy with and felt like it had the potential to be good. My previous two attempts at the vormator shades left me worried since everyone else work was great but mine wasn't. However, I managed to make a character that I was very happy with. This week, I also realised that there is nothing wrong in asking for help when you're stuck.
Week 4: This was by far the one of the most exciting weeks because our vormator's got laser cut. There was a lot of energy and excitement became something we made on a computer, was created in 3D. There was also a lot of satisfaction in seeing three long weeks of work finally paying off.
Week 5: Our class this week was cancelled but it was fun having a day to sleep in.
Week 6: This week was stressful because I struggled to draw the pear but practice makes perfect and I managed. Illustration and narrative class always start off as confusing but then everything makes sense towards the end and it takes a little patience to get work looking good.
