Lecture 7 Decisive Moment
07/05/2018
This week, Mr.Hafiz told us we had to start our second assignment or project. He showed us examples of what we had to do before he began to explain. He told us that we had to pick an urban legend and create an animated gif showing the decisive moment of that folklore.
Lecture 8 Chosen Legend
14/05/2018
The legend I chose is Hanako-san which is a Japanese urban legend. The story is, "The third stall in the girl’s bathroom, it always seems to have a crudely scrawled ‘out of order’ sign taped to it no matter how many times it’s been taken down. People can sometimes hear someone talking to themselves even though there are no feet. In Japan these are the tell-tale signs that a disturbed ghost named Hanako-San has taken up residence in the school. Some people will hang back and encourage others, while some will say they’ll do it but then chicken out at the last moment. Others, however, are very good at seeming confident. They’ll stride right up the door and begin the ritual to summon Hanako-San. It’s quite a simple thing really, all you have to do is stand very close to the door of the third stall, knock three times, and ask “Are you there Hanako-San?” If the ritual is successful, a bloody hand print will appear on the bathroom door stall."
Lecture 9 Continuation

This week, we just worked on our urban legends in class and asked Mr. Hafiz for anything if we needed it.
Lecture 10

REFLECTION
Week 7: This class was exciting and scary. I personally, do not have the best drawing skills and drawing intimidates me. Finding a legend that I liked was also tricky because nothing was intriguing enough for me.
Week 8: I managed to find a legend that Mr.Hafiz approved and one I was okay with. But now the hard part began, the drawings and illustrating everything onto illustrator. I realised that there is still a lot about illustrator I don't know about and found myself needing help a lot.
Week 9: This week was the most stressful, because I needed help and had to wait till monday to get help. Apart fro that, I was able to finish my sketches and only needed assistance with one thing before I could go on with my animation.
Week 10: When we were first given this project, a feeling of dread took over me because I'm not the best artist. It was a stressful four weeks, but it proved to be very helpful. I now know how much a difference shadows and gradients can make when it comes to give depth and how they give illustrations the kick they need. In the end, I enjoyed creating the animation very much.
