Lecture 13
18/06/2018
This week, we were asked to analyse the five act structure and create sketches for our stories and show them to Mr.Hafiz for his approval.
The Five Act Structure:
Act 1: There is an elephant child, full satiable curiosity. He asks his uncle and aunts questions but is always hushed by them.
Act 2: He wakes up one morning and asks what the crocodile eats for dinner but is hushed. He then meets the Kolokolo bird and asks her if she knows what the crocodile eats for dinner. The kolokolo bird tells him to go to the Limpopo River and find out.
Act 3: He arrives at the Limpopo River and asks the snake if he knows where the crocodile is but is hushed.
Act 4: He finally finds the crocodile asks him what he eats. The crocodile tells him to come closer and then bites his trunk. They both pull until the crocodile lets go, leaving the elephant’s child trunk stretched and long.
Act 5: The Elephant’s child happily goes home with his new trunk, ready to show it off to his family.
13.1 Sketches

This week, was productivity week, I looked up my reference pictures to use for the illustration and began to start my illustrations on illustrator.

Lecture 15
2/07/2018
This week, I finished all my frames for the webcomic before uploading everything onto madefire which took a lot longer than expected. The process of understanding madefire was a learning process in itself and was very frustrating but seeing the final work was very satisfactory.

Lecture 16
13/07/2018
This week, was submission week an we were told to drop our final project links onto google classroom before uploading them onto our portfolios.
16.1 Link to final work.
REFLECTION
Week 11: When we were given the project, I was little bit, actually, I was very scared because I wasn't sure how I was going to manage this project but I figured it out.
Week 12: Since we were on break, I didn't do anything this week, so I have nothing to reflect about.
Week 13: This week, was probably the calm before the storm. The five act structure was easy to figure out but it wasn't easy to animate.
Week 14: The animation process began, and I don't have a lot of confidence in my drawing skills but I was able to create animals. I wanted to use a cartoonish, child appealing art style, which I managed to achieve.
Week 15: This week was by far the most stressful, the project had been uploaded to madefire but the madefire server was done, which meant the project was not uploading, but alas it uploaded and the link was generated.
Week 16: A week of happiness, the project had been submitted, like had been sent, and this semester ended. Throughout this module, I think, I learnt more about narrative styles and about different art styles and about transitions through this module.
