This week, Mr.Martin showed us a french short film called The Piano Tuner. He told us to pay attention because we would be doing an exercise where we would be locating the three act structure of the short film.

Week 6
The exercise given was to identify the three act structure of the short film.

Act 1:

-Character is introduced.

-He is playing the piano and he states that he is blind.

-He cannot perform in public anymore because he was once a prodigy but failed at his life goal of winning the prize and now works as a piano tuner.

Plot point:

-The character performing for the bernstein award but failing and loses all his confidence.

Act 2:

-His new approach to life is to pretend to be blind since it gains more benefits such as sympathy and people think he is more skilled with his other abilities.

-He goes to his appointment for the day and at first they down let him but then he tells them he is blind and they allow him to enter.

-Once he enters, he slips on blood of the dead man and the woman makes him strip (climax)

Plot point:

-Confession that he is not actually blind and only pretends to be blind.

Climax:

-Slipping on the blood of the man.

Act 3:

-He tunes the piano and the woman approaches him for behind.

-He starts to play the piano because he does not know what to say.

-The woman stands behind him with a weapon.

Plot point;

-The woman standing behind his with the weapon.
