Project 1
Week 3
In this class, we were briefed about the project and how we were to create packaging for our publishing design book. We had to create a paperboy, a book cover and a third item and packaging for that third item.
Right of the bat, I knew I wanted to create a book sleeve that could hold my book and for the paper bag I wanted to create a book which colour everything. For my third item, I wanted to create bottled thoughts that would visualise the contents of the book and of my thoughts since the book was about my thoughts.
Week 4
This week, I made sketches for my packaging and how I wanted to go about for my designs for the packaging.
Reflection
Week 3: For this project, I was a bit excited because it revolved around books and I love books and reading. However, I was a bit worried since packaging has been the module I have been struggling with the most.
Week 4: For the sketches, I was worried, since the box drawings isn't very good and I have this skill, where I decided to change things last minute and it happened with the box. However, I don't know if my sustainable paper bag will be accepted.
Week 5: Ripping open, or as I like to say, dissecting the packages was fun and painful since the box is a packaging I love quite a lot and keep next to me for packaging inspiration but it served its purpose. The dyelines proved to be the easiest bit which I thought would be difficult since I didn't have mock ups and just used my ruler to measure everything.
Week 6: Everything went smoothly and everything looked great. For the paperboy, I had previous folded paper bags with my hands before and that little skill came in handy for the paper bag. Overall, this project was fun, it did get stressful a few times but it was still very fun and now I think, I've gained a skill where I can make my own packaging and don't need to purchase any.
Week 14: Redoing the project gave me more satisfaction since I finally figure out how to make a paper bag properly this time and realised that when we first got this project, for my third item I wanted to make something different hence the bottles which never worked out.I realised that always trying to make something different isn't the way to go and sometimes, creating something more practical like the visual book would've been better from the start.

1.1 Sketches
Week 5
This week, I began making the measurements and the dyelines for the packaging. However, before that, I ddi a little research and by that, I ripped open different types of packaging I had. The packagings I dissected were similar to how I wanted my packaging too look.
1.2 Box packaging
1.3 Book sleeve packaging
For the paperboy, I initially wanted to do a box for the paperboy but after thinking, I thought about changing it to an actual paper bag. I wanted to use a very thin material for the paperboy since no one really cares about the paper bag and focuses about whats in it.
1.4 The type of bag I wanted but the design would go on it.
1.5 Box Packaging
1.6 Book Sleeve
Week 6
This week was submission week so I got all the necessary matters ready and printed what needed to be printed before I began on the paperbag.
1.7 Everything printed
1.8 For the paper bag, I used the type of material I wanted and began to fold it to the size I wanted
1.9 Paper bag

1.12 Open Box
1.13 Box from the inside with the third item
1.14 The third item.
1.15 All the items placed together
RESUBMISSION
Week 14
I wanted to resubmit my project 1 because I wasn't happy with the first time results I made. I started by remaking my third item. Unlike the bottles, This time I made a smaller book to go with my original book. This book was a compilation of all the visuals I made for my publishing class.
1.16 Front and back cover for the small visuals book
1.17 Inside of the book
1.18 Dyeline for the packaging of the book.
1.19 The box assembled
1.20 Closed box
1.21 The box placed inside the box
1.22 Product shot
1.23 Book sleeve from the front
1.24 Book sleeve from the back
1.25 For the paper bag I remade one using the colour of my packaging which was a light pastel purple
1.26 I then added the main visual fir the book cover on the paperbag
1.27 I then added a ribbon to the top to tie the paper bag from the top.
1.28 Everything assembled and placed together.
